Today is a very momentous day here at The Quilted Fish. My assistant Kristen is finally having her baby! Add to that the excitement of it being International Talk Like A Pirate Day and is it any wonder this day is special? Some may ask what these two things have in common or why I deem it exciting. To that I answer, what could be more appropriate for our newest little fishie than to be born on a day when all and sundry are speaking of the bounteous and beauteous ocean, their second home?
When you’re speaking like a pirate, you can almost hear the ocean lapping against the hull instead of the traffic outside your window. You can breathe in the smell of the briny sea rather than your plug-in air freshener. If you haven’t tried it yet, today is the day! Not to mention, who doesn’t love pirates - especially Captain Jack Sparrow?!

This newest little fishy doesn't yet have a name and obviously needs a piratical name. Kristen and Husband cannot come to an agreement, so I decided that I should give them a few more options. There has to be a perfect pirate name out there for this baby. I have suggested “Parlay” multiple times, but Kristen won’t go for it. Perhaps Black-Eyed Bertha?Calypso? How about Bonny the Beauty? I’m sure one of you will have the perfect suggestion! Please share your ideas with us so that we can finally get this baby a name.
On a side note, do you think that Daughter Number Three will look like her sisters, or will she finally be the one to take after her mother?
I’m rooting for her to look like her mother - then Black-Eyed Bertha will be a more-than-fitting name!
