Summertime. It is the best of times, it is the worst of times. The best of times with family and fun, the worst of times for getting anything done! As I sit here trying to squeeze some work in between play dates and swimming lessons I realize how very little I have actually accomplished in the last six weeks. We are on year round school here, so my kids go back to school next week which is both very sad and a huge relief. I am happy to say, however, that this has been an incredibly fun summer with my kids, and one that they aren’t going to forget anytime soon! At the beginning of last year if you had told me that I would be the proud owner of a travel trailer (nicknamed the Glamper) I would have laughed at you. At the beginning of this year if you had told me that I would be the proud owner of a dirt bike I would have laughed even harder! Well, never say never!
Yep. That’s me in the middle. I named my bike Chancho. And, in case you are wondering I HAVE crashed. Twice. And it hurt. But oh the fun I am having! That is Mr. Fish on the left and the big fish stick on the right. The two little fish sticks have bikes, too, but thanks to a really grumpy camp host they were to afraid to ride them this trip. So now that I own a dirt bike, I have been thinking about what kinds of things I can sew for it. A bike cozy? A seat cover? Mr. Fish promised to never ride with me if I made a quilted seat cover. I can for sure make myself a fancy helmet bag. But what else???? There has to be something! Can you think of anything??
In other news, I haven’t been around to announce the winner of the Apple a Day book and Necklace kit! The winner is Cecilia Young! Congrats to her. I hope you all enjoyed the blog tour and had a good time seeing all of my team members again. They are such a lovely group of ladies.
One last little tidbit to share with you! I am just finishing up my SIXTH fabric line!!! It will be done by the end of this month. I cannot wait to show you this one…it may be my favorite. I am so so so excited about it. I can’t even tell you the name because it will give it all away! Stay tuned, though, I will share some soon!

Hello! I am so excited to share a bit more information with you about our (that’s me and my creative team) book, An Apple a Day, 9 projects for the daily life of sewist, quilters and crafters. This book was really a labor of love and by that I mean blood, sweat, and tears from each person on the team. I am proud of each contribution and feel deeply proud of the team for stretching themselves and reaching new levels. I also think that the book is beautiful, full of gorgeous pictures taken by my sweet friend Kristen Pack of Shadetree Studios. Here is a look at the cover of the book….
So what are we going to do with this book tour? Well, of course we are going to give stuff away! Who doesn’t love free stuff? (I can hear the crickets now.) But before I go into all of that, I would love to show some pictures of my project. That’s it on the cover. That cute little sewing /momento/chocolate box. You really could put whatever you want in it! It even has layers of boxes INSIDE!!! Heres a peaky inside…
Now, I know I am a bit biased, but I think this is an awesome book. It has a great variety of projects that you will see over the next week (if you follow the tour, dates and places listed below). I am going to share another picture, though, just to get you even more excited! This is the first project in the book, and if you follow my blog you will already know all about it. BUT, do you want to make your own? Well, each team member is giving away (at least) one book and a kit for this necklace! YAY! So if you want to win, leave a comment below. GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED! See next post for winners!
If you think you just can’t wait to win one, and you want to buy one, well, we can accommodate that, too! Here is a link to purchase the book. Don’t kill me for what I am about to say. You might want to. But this book has some great ideas for Holiday gifts, so if you are an early starter this would be a fun place to start! I know. Who can think about that when it is hotter than the surface of the sun outside? Maybe you, but not me. That was just for all of you who can. But I digress.
Here are links so that you can follow the tour…
