Well, it has been a week and a half since Sweet Divinity arrived and I didn’t leave my studio for five days after it arrived. All of the new projects are finished and I am working on making some older patterns in the new fabric now. It was quite frantic at first, but has certainly mellowed now. Not that I have much of a choice since we are on vacation. What was I thinking planning a vacation smack dab in the middle of the craziest time of year? I am not sure, although I think that when we did it I thought I could handle it. I don’t think I will do it again!
Anyway…I haven’t had two extra seconds to blog until now. I wanted to bring all 21 bolts of fabric on vacation with us so that I could photograph them and sew with them (yes, I did bring my sewing machine and supplies on vacation), but I had to choose between fabric and one of my kids since there isn’t enough room in the car for both. So I had to settle for some small pieces and all of my scraps. I am quite stingy about cutting into the bolts, but I did allow myself to cut a few pieces to bring with me.
I love it. More than I could have imagined. And I love seeing it made into projects. I feel so honored and so humbled by the whole thing. And…can you believe it??? MY name on a selvage? I have saved a whole bunch of those selvages. Don’t know what I am going to do with them, but I couldn’t throw them away! Do you have any ideas? I would love to see/hear them.
Hopefully after vacation and before market I will have time to cut some fat quarters to give away! You know that I have to love you to give you my fabric! I can hardly stand to cut it! If you want to buy some now, you can find it here. I will show you pictures of projects soon. You know….after the vacation. :)
