All creative people are inspired by something. For some it is a clean house (good thing that’s not me), some are inspired by nature. Others are inspired by other people’s creativity. I really think that a lot of people fall into this category. I often find myself inspired by color. When the colors are right, things flow easily. When they are not, I seem to get stuck. For example when I was working on my fabric line and the colors weren’t quite right I couldn’t get it together. As soon as we got the right color choices, I was able to crank out the designs. There are two more things that I often find myself drawn to for inspiration. One is scrapbooking. I love to scrapbook, but I really don’t have time. Lame excuse? Maybe. Will I regret it when my kids are older? Probably. Do I want to do anything about it right now? Nope. Still, though, I love to read scrapbooking magazines. I really feel like there are so many great ideas. I love to look at what people do with paper and think about how I could do it with fabric. The other thing that I am drawn to is altered things, especially clothing. I don’t mean altered in the sense that it is made to fit better, but in the sense that someone takes something and changes it, makes it their own or alters it. Some people also call it mixed media.
